Signed into law on July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), maintains the increased gift and estate tax exemption levels and increases them effective January 1, 2026, to $15,000,000 per person.

Effective April 1, 2025, the Small Estate Limit on real & personal property for mustering a small estate without Probate has been increased to $208,850 (excluding the additional real property exemption, see AB 2016)

Effective March 7, 2025, the CA Board of Equalization (BOE) has published the Prop 19 reassessment exclusion amount for qualifying Parent to Child Transfers occurring between February 16, 2025 and February 15, 2027. The amount for eligible transfers during this period is $1,044,586.
